The Mysterious Mary's of the Gospel and Christ's sinless life.

Welcome to the weekly broadcast of Jeshurun Ministry, GB's program, Preach the Gospel, Trouble is Coming to the Earth. It is the program designed to help you live victoriously in times of trouble. A fiction writer called Dan Brown wrote a book called The Da Vinci Code, which sold 80 to 85 million copies and is one of the top 10 most popular books ever written in the history of mankind. Brown personally made more than $250 million from the book. And the film, according to reports, the film grossed $800 million dollars. In the book, he accuses Jesus Christ of being married to a woman mentioned in the gospel by the name of Mary Magdalene.

In this message, I will give evidence proving this to be a flat out lie in just one sentence. Yes, just one sentence. And this evidence will be so strong that it can stand up in a court of law without anyone being able to challenge it. I assure you. In this message, I will also prove that Jesus Christ, known as Yeshua in Jewish circles, lived an entirely sinless life and that this fact was known for thousands of years even before He came to the earth.

The evidence that Christ would come and live a sinless life was never a secret to the Jewish people. This fact is not buried, nor was it hidden from view. It is and has been on full display in the Jewish culture for more than 3,000 years. It was planned even before they existed. In fact, it goes back beyond the Garden of Eden even to the creation.

According to Exodus 12, around 1200 BC or before, the Lord told Moses to instruct the people to select a lamb without blemish or defect, which they would kill and strike its blood on the upper and side posts of the doors of their houses on the night that they were to be delivered from the bondage of Egypt.

Here's the command in verse five. Your lamb shall be without blemish or defect, a male of the first year. You shall take it out from the sheep or from the goats. This represented a pure and perfect innocent lamb which was a forecast of the purity and innocence of Christ our Lord and Savior.

Let us pray. Father, I give You thanks and praise for this awesome, wonderful day that You've given us and Your tremendous blessings with which You have already blessed us. Strengthen every listener to this message that they may live a life pleasing unto You. We pray this prayer in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen.

In the book of First Peter 1 and 19, the Apostle Peter referred to Jesus Christ as a lamb without blemish and without spot. The apostle told the Jews and the Gentiles by extensions that we were not redeemed by corruptible things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. He was indeed for ordained before the foundation of the world. And this is confirmed by the apostle John in revelation 13 and 8 as he refers to Christ as the lamb who was slain from the foundation of the world.

Therefore on the night in question the entire community of the Israelites living in the town of Goshen in Egypt killed a perfect male lamb and placed the blood on the doorpost of their homes. And at midnight, the angel of death passed by their homes. But the Egyptian homes were not spared. Every firstborn in every home was killed.

God was preparing them for the spotless Lamb of God who would take away the sins of the world. And they were commanded to observe this Passover sacrifice every year thereafter because it foretold the coming of the great Messiah, the one without sin. And this would be Jesus Christ. This would be Yeshua, the ultimate deliverer.

And even today, the Jewish people who rejected Christ as the Messiah are still looking for a sinless Messiah to come. The Temple Institute in Jerusalem is preparing for the restoration of temple worship at a date in the very near future. They are preserving and locating, according to reports, unblemished animals, especially lambs. And one of these animals, however, is a spotless red heifer or cow which they plan to use in ritual purification when they begin sacrifices in the new temple which they are preparing to build. In fact, this heifer will be killed even before construction begins.

Before I had accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal savior, I found it impossible to believe that Christ could have possibly lived a life without sin. But sometime after the Holy Spirit came into my heart, I found this to be quite credible. My eyes were opened to the incredible relationship that Jesus Christ had and has with His Father and the power of the awesome Holy Spirit in His life. The main job of the Holy Spirit is to lead believers in Christ into all truth and to keep us from a hopeless life of recurrent unrepentant sin.

Now, there are some among us who come to Christ or say they have come to Him and continue to be led by their own understanding. For those with this attitude, some of the truths of the gospel that God is prepared to reveal to all of His children in this season continue to be hidden from them because their minds are only partially open to the truth of God's Holy Word. However, there is hope for all of us because of the process of sanctification in which Christ is perfecting all sincere born-again believers. But we must open our eyes, open our minds even to the things of the Word that we do not understand.

Here's the truth about Mary Magdalene who according to Luke 8 and 2 was delivered from seven demons. She loved much perhaps because of this great deliverance. But she's not to be confused with the friend of Jesus Christ named Mary of Bethany, who was Martha and Lazarus's sister. Neither should we confuse her with the anonymous sinful woman who washed Jesus' feet with her tears and anointed His feet with a precious ointment.

This Mary Magdalene was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. There are many among us who've been forgiven of only a few sins or who have not had such a great deliverance. Here's what scripture says about those. Their love is small. These persons do not care so much about our Lord as those who've been delivered from even greater sins.

But this Mary, her love for God was very great. She loved hard. She came from the town of Magdala and this is why she had the name Magdalene. Scripture does not describe her as a prostitute as many erroneously believe. She also has the distinction of being the first witness to Christ's resurrection according to Mark 16:9.

In fact, according to John 20, the risen Christ appeared to her even before He appeared to His apostles. This might have happened simply because while everyone else was sleeping or hiding in fear, Mary Magdalene could not rest because her loving heart was so broken that she had to find Christ even though He was dead. Her diligence was rewarded with the distinction of being the first to see the resurrected Lord. And then He sent her to let the apostles know that He had risen from the dead and was ascending to His Father.

Now back to the Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown's 2003 best selling thriller that so many in the world have been excited about and amazed by. Here are some facts about this top 10 all-time bestseller. It has been translated into at least 44 languages. It spent over two years on the New York Times best seller list, including 57 weeks in the number one spot. In the story, the relationship between Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene is presented as a riveting story of love and deception.

When compared to other hot fake news stories that have mesmerized those who love the lie and hate the truth, no other book comes close. Many have latched on to this highly controversial story, claiming that mainstream Christianity is guilty of orchestrating the greatest cover up in human history. And this book is undoubtedly one of Satan's best work.

Now, what about this one liner that I promised that would conclusively prove that Jesus Christ was not married to this woman named Mary Magdalene? According to the fictional lies of the Da Vinci Code, Mary Magdalene was not only the wife of Jesus Christ, but she was also pregnant with a child that would later be called Sarah. I am sure you would agree that a man with honor and integrity always looks out for his wife and his children or child even as he faces death. Even many of those who did not believe Jesus Christ was the Messiah believe that He was an honorable man, a good man. This kind of man wants to be comforted in knowing that his wife and child will be taken care of and he sometime appoints someone that he can trust to take care of them.

Well, according to John 19 and 25, three women named Mary stood at the foot or near Christ's cross just as He was about to expire. These women were His mother Mary, His mother's sister Mary, the wife of Cleopus and Mary Magdalene.

Now, here is the one line piece of indisputable evidence proving Jesus Christ was not married to Mary Magdalene, nor to anyone else in fact. It is found in verse 26 of John 19. And verse 26 says, "When Jesus therefore saw His mother and the disciples standing by whom He loved, this disciple of course is John the Apostle. He said unto His mother, "Woman, behold thy son." This is the clincher. If indeed Jesus Christ was married to Mary Magdalene and she was pregnant with their child, would He not have made preparation for her just as readily or even more than He would for His mother? You be the judge.

In the following verse, He speaks directly to the Apostle John whom He appointed as caretaker of His mother Mary. So verse 27 then says, "Then said He to the disciple, behold thy mother." And from that hour that disciple took her, Mary, His mother, that is, unto His own home.

These two verses represent one of Christ's famous seven last words. According to John, it was His final act and He used it to make sure that His mother, not Mary Magdalene, but rather His mother would be taken care of by the Apostle John. And scripture clearly states that wherever John went, Mary went along with Him doing ministry as He was entrusted with taking care of her, which He did faithfully.

Now, here's a question for all of us. Can born again believers still sin? Yes. The Holy Scriptures makes it clear that our spiritual nature is transformed by the new birth experience. But physically we still struggle with sin. However, the struggle is less than before for many if we continue in daily study of God's Word. For some, the transformation is instantaneous, while for others, the struggle continues for a longer period of time. The sanctification process begins to wean our flesh off sin. And this process is made immensely easier by daily study, reading of the Word of God.

The Word begins to empower us more and more so that we no longer live a life in which we are comfortable with sin. And 1 John 1:8 says, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His Word is not in us.

Well, friend, the life of a born again believer is in serious jeopardy when he again becomes entangled with sin. When he becomes comfortable with a life of sin. First John 3:10 tell us the difference between the children of God and the children of the devil. And it says, "Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother."

And therefore, the children of God practice righteous living and fight to keep their flesh under submission. And let us be careful not to break our fellowship with Christ by turning back and walking again in the pathways of sin. God bless and keep you in Jesus mighty name.
