"Leadership Principles From The Life Of Moshe Pt.1" Moses was the most humble man ever.
This is the first in a series of three messages about leadership principles gleaned from the life of Moses. There is no leader that has ever lived who was entrusted with a more arduous task than Moses was. His job was to lead the rebellious Children of Israel to the Land of Canaan., the land of promise!

Leadership principles from the life of Moshe part one. That's our message. The text is taken from Exodus 1:4.
I want to introduce you to a simple man who became a great leader a man whose life can be an inspiration to you, no matter what your calling is. No matter what your goals or passions may be his life can inspire you to achieve great success.
If you want to be an effective leader, a study of his life can be a great benefit to you. Because leading a rebellious group for 40 years, he did what no other leader has ever done.
If you want to be a writer, you can also learn something from him, because he wrote five of the most consequential books ever written, books that have been shaping the entire world for thousands of years.
If you want to make a name for yourself by accomplishing what people around you are saying is impossible, his life can show you how it can be done. And if you simply want to be a faithful man or woman of God, following the life of this man whom the Jewish people called Moshe, and the Christians called Moses, can be a great benefit to you.
Moshe was a Hebrew whose parents were from the tribe of Levi. He was an extraordinary man who came from a very humble beginning. He was greatly loved by God and so close to him that, many refer to him as, "The man who talked with God." Apart from Jesus Christ, there's no one who has ever lived that has accomplished more than Moshe has accomplished for the Lord.
And yet he was a flawed man. Timid in some ways, yet capable of murder; a protector of others, but also self-doubting, but most interesting of all he was a reluctant leader who was fearful of speaking publicly.
Father we give You thanks and praise for Your Word today in the name of Jesus Christ. We thank You for sending it forth under the anointing of Your Holy Spirit and bless the heart of Your listener Father in the name of Jesus. That they may receive inspiration from You Father. We thank You and praise You that the message will go forth with Clarity and in truth in Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Moshe was a migrant in a strange land, born into abject poverty, and slavery. He was not supposed to survive, he was born at a time when Pharaoh had given an order to drown all the newborn males in the migrant community in order to stifle the growth of the Hebrew migrants, who were multiplying rapidly.
His mother preserved his life by placing him in a waterproof basket basket and sending it down the river in hopes that somehow God would save him. What a sad and tearful day that must have been in baby Moshe's house.
As God would have it, the daughter of Pharaoh heard him crying as she bathed in the Nile River, and took him as her own son. Without realizing it she selected the baby's own mother to nurse him and the Lord turned the family's sorrow into instant joy. And you can be sure his mother taught him that he was not an Egyptian but that he was a Hebrew. So while he had all the benefits of being an Egyptian, he also had the Abrahamic blessing on his life, and she made sure that he knew something about the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob.
LESSON LEARNED: When we give something to the Lord that we love and treasure the Lord always returns it to us multiplied. God's purpose is on us from our birth, and He has a plan to pave the way for us to achieve this purpose.
Moshe would now have a chance to live instead of being drowned like so many babies born in his season. He would get an education superior to other Hebrew boys, and escape the brutal conditions his family lived under, and who knows what benefits that might bring for the rest of the family.
LESSON LEARNED: This is evidence that, long before we have a conscious awareness of the path that our life would take, God has already charted a course for us, in order to bring us into the place He has prepared for us.
In those days Egypt was the Hub of economic activity in the world, and the top nation, because of agricultural, architectural, educational, medical and technological advancement that were superior to all other nations. For instance by building great pyramids the Egyptians set standards for architectural design that still are in play today.
They invented simple machines like ramps and levers. They developed mathematical principles. They invented the calendar and timekeeping, and even toothpaste and cosmetics, and so much more. However what would be most most useful to Moshe was the fact that Egypt was perhaps the first nation to use Papyrus sheets as writing paper.
Other nations were still writing on stone, wood, or clay and they invented hieratic writing, a cursive form of writing used for writing with reed brushes, and later on with reed pens. Moshe would get the benefit of all of this in his educational upbringing and would employ these skills in doing great exploits for the Lord God later on in his life.
As he grew, he did not know it, but the Lord was grooming him to lead his people out of the oppressive hand of the Egyptians, and into a land that He had reserved for them. A land of milk and honey.
So here's a question for you. What is the Lord preparing you for?
Now here's a revelation, my eyes were opened to one of the hidden reasons why the Lord created a famine on the earth, that would force Israel and his 12 sons to migrate to Egypt in a most interesting chain of events.
In other words one of the reasons the children of Israel were sent to Egypt by the Lord God was because he wanted them to be trained by the most advanced nation in the world and today just like the Egyptians of that day the Jewish people are one of the most technologically advanced nations on Earth.
LESSON LEARNED: We need not worry about how we are going to accomplish the things that the Lord has prepared for us to do. He is behind the scenes setting the path or the road that we will have to travel that would take us to our destination.
The Egyptians taught Moshe how to read and write, and he wrote five of the most consequential books of the entire Holy Bible.
LESSON LEARNED: We must look beyond the harsh conditions that we may be living under, and trust God to be bringing forth some good from our painful circumstances.
One day after Moshe became a man, he went to visit his Hebrew people for whom he had great love. And he saw an Egyptian strike a Hebrew man, and he killed the Egyptian, and buried his body in the sand. The Hebrews who observed this, did not take kindly to what Moshe had done, feeling that he made them even more unsafe.
The news about what he had done got to Pharaoh, and his life was now in danger, because Pharaoh wanted to kill him. And so, the course of Moshe's life changed suddenly, and he was now a murderer and a fugitive, running for his life as he fled from an angry and powerful Pharaoh.
LESSON LEARNED: Even if God's hand is upon you there's a price to pay for disobeying his law, and when we act contrary to these laws there are consequences.
The Bible is silent about the details of Moshe's first escape from Egypt, making no mention of his means of transportation on his 200 or more mile journey. And there's no mention of the difficulties he encountered as he fled for his life. Clearly he was now alone, separated from the luxury of the palace, and without friend or family. And it would be 40 years before he returned to Egypt again.
LESSON LEARNED: God's silence is not an indication that He has abandoned you, and has no plan for your life.
Moshe soon found himself in the land of Midian 200 miles away at a well where he found another type of injustice. There were seven maidens being taken advantage of by shepherds who had driven them away from the trough, as they were watering their father's flock. But Moshe stood up for them and watered their flock ahead of the shepherds but this time he maintained a cool head and helped without making the situation worse.
The maiden's father was a Midianite priest called Jethro, who appreciated what Moshe had done in helping his daughters, and invited him into his home for dinner. Later, Jethro gave him a job in which he kept his flock. At some point the priest gave Moshe his daughter Zipporah as a wife, and she bore him two sons.
LESSON LEARNED: A man's gift will make room for him. Moshe was a protector and one who stood up for the oppressed. But he had to learn how to fight for justice without breaking God's law, and the door was opened to a new life.
The Bible says very little about this 40-year period of Moshe's life. In the meantime, the king of Egypt who wanted to kill Moshe died, and the children of Israel became wary of the bondage that they had been living under, and they cried out to God. The Lord God Of Heaven heard them and He remembered His promise to their forefathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and decided to deliver them.
LESSON LEARNED: Though the Lord takes long to respond to our cries He never forgets His promise to deliver us from every kind of bondage.
Moshe was now close to 80 years old, and he had never had a visitation from The Lord. At least there is no mention of any. One day, as he led his father-in-law's flock further away than he us usually did, he came as far as Mount Horeb which is also known as Mount Sinai.
Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire in the middle of the bushes. He saw that the fire was burning in the bush, but the bush was not being burnt up. And the Lord called out to him from the bush, and he answered. The Lord told him to take off his shoes, for the place where he was standing was Holy Ground. The Lord God introduced Himself and said that He was the God of Moshe's ancestors Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and Moshe hid his face because he was afraid to look upon God.
LESSON LEARNED: God will reveal Himself to you at an appropriate time, and age is not a factor.
The Lord told Moshe that He had seen the affliction of His people living in Egypt and He had heard their cry because of the evil slave masters who mistreated them. Therefore He had come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them into a fruitful and a large land that flowed with milk and honey.
He said that He had seen the oppression of His people by the Egyptians and now He was going to send Moshe to the new Pharaoh that reigned in Egypt, that Moshe may bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt.
And Moshe said to Him, "Who am I that I would be able to do this thing." In other words, I'm just a shepherd, a keeper of the flock, and a fugitive. Who am I that I should be selected for such a huge and difficult task? Don't You know that I am where I am today because I had to run from Pharaoh for my very life.
LESSON LEARNED: When the Lord God calls us He does not look at our circumstances, our stature in life, our age, or what we have done in the past, and we must be ready!
This is just the beginning of a long conversation that God has with Moshe at this time, who gives the Lord every reason that he possibly can think about as to why he was not the right man for this job.
And this is also probably the longest recorded conversation that God has had with any man that He was sending on a mission. And we will pick up the rest of this conversation between Moshe and the Lord God Of Heaven in the sequel to this message. Part two.
