"If only I could put Christ into a syringe, and inject Him into you!"

This unusual concept received by Pastor Hepburn, points to the blood, sweat and tears aspect of the gospel! Christ fought for us to have it, and we must treasure it, and even be prepared to die to keep it!

If only I could put Christ into a syringe and inject Him into you.

Hello and welcome to the weekly broadcast of the program Preach the Gospel. Trouble is Coming to the Earth. Presented by Jeshurun Ministry GB in the Bahamas.

This is the program designed to give you solutions to living victoriously in times of trouble.

Listen to this story. The old pastor rolled over in his bed. Morning had broken and he must be up and about doing the work of an evangelist. And he woke up repeating 14 words to himself over and over again. If only I could put Christ into a syringe and inject Him into you. He was puzzled about where this thought had come from. It was a crystal clear thought. Yet, it came with no attachments, no direction, and no ideas about its purpose.

Perhaps he'd been dreaming about the challenges of effectively delivering the Word of God in a manner that would cause transformation in the hearts of the people. And perhaps he was worn out by the deceitfulness of people who say they love the Lord but behave contrary to His Word.

And he thought to himself, if I could physically package the gospel of Jesus Christ and inject Him into people in this way, their lives would be transformed immediately and that would be awesomely great. However, it would be a shortcut and would not work. We are always looking for an easy way out. Unfortunately, friend, there is no shortcut. Anything worthwhile in this life requires blood, sweat, and tears. And that is what the Savior went through in order to win our salvation.

Father, we give You thanks and praise for Jesus Christ and for this blessed day that You've given us. Bless the listener to this message and we declare a special blessing on them today. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

The old man thought to himself about the concept of going the extra mile. All that is of lasting value in this life requires determination, endurance, pain, and suffering. The people who have achieved anything worthwhile in this life have all had a willingness to go the extra mile in every situation. And this is one of the key traits of winners and conquerors. They must have a willingness to do more than the average is willing to do. Going the extra mile is staying back after class to ask the teacher a question or two. Going the extra mile is staying an extra hour at work after quitting time without being asked to do so and without expecting to be paid. It is simply going beyond what is expected of you.

He thought about the fact that some think that they've received Christ when they have not. Well, how do you know? How can you tell if Christ really abides in an individual anyway? Well, he thought the Word has simplified it for us. It says you can tell by their fruit, by the things they say and do. And this means people themselves can even tell who they are by carefully checking the things that they are producing. Everyone can examine their own fruit.

He began to ponder Matthew 7:16, which says, "Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Christ said, "Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit."

In the same way, friend, that the thorn bush is a bad tree and cannot produce grapes, those who are not of the Lord cannot produce true righteousness that is acceptable to the Father. The heart that is renewed by the Father brings forth the fruit of the Spirit such as love, joy, peace, kindness, gentleness, etc. And this applies to everyday people who say they are believers in Christ. And it applies to false teachers who present themselves as if they are under the banner of righteousness when they are in fact thieves and robbers.

People should ask God for the gift of discernment which will allow them to be able to look into the soul of men and see their wickedness. The old man was reminded that even Christ was often frustrated by the people's response to His gospel and He would be disgusted today as well. One day He said, "These people draw near to Me with their mouth and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me, and in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrine the commandments of men." Matthew 15:8.

He was speaking here about the crafty and deceitful ways of many who show you one attitude to your face and a completely different attitude behind your back. Those who say one thing to your face but do quite the opposite when they think you cannot see them. And do they not know that God sees their deceitfulness and is not pleased? Do they even care?

Something else crossed his mind. Men and women of these last days are often more interested in looking good than they're interested in truly being good in their hearts. And they're so busy looking critically at others and nitpicking them that they're not growing one iota in Christ. And Christ described them in 2nd Timothy 3: 4 to 5 as lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. Having a form of Godliness but denying its power.

And this means, friend, that form and fashion is more important to them than moving through life with the power of God. They're more interested in making a good impression than they're interested in being real to the core. And this also means that they place more value on winning the praises of men than on winning the praises of God. And Satan has blinded them to the fact that God sees their wickedness and their deceitfulness every single day.

Many in the world today want food that is beautiful and tasty, but they're not really interested in the nutritional value. Yet the real power and all the good is in the nutrients. This is another reason the world is upside down today. The manufacturers and food producers are more interested therefore in appealing to our vanities because they know we are more interested in the way things look than in the real value of the item.

And so they work to please us because pleasing us put money in their pockets. They know we are vain and we want immediate rather than long-term benefits. This is the price we pay for being an impatient flash in the pan people. It is the price we pay for being a microwave generation and food giants and other businesses and the business moguls take advantage of us every living day feeding us any kind of garbage with no nutritional value.

King Solomon the preacher was known as the wisest man that ever lived. He wrote a powerful verse in Ecclesiastes one and verse two which reads this way. Vanity of vanities says the preacher. Vanity of vanities. All is vanity. To get a better understanding of what the core message is in this simple text, let us look at some of the other translations. For instance, the NIV says meaningless, meaningless, everything is meaningless. Then we have the Berean Standard Bible which says futility of futilities. Everything is futile. We can look at the contemporary English version which says nothing makes sense. Everything is nonsense. And finally, the ISV says absolutely pointless. Everything is pointless. These friend are the words spoken by a man who had achieved everything, who owned everything and who experienced everything that the world had to offer. And yet he is the same man who concluded that there's nothing new under the sun. Yes, we are a vain people, a shallow people. We're not serious about seeking God, who is the only meaningful one on the entire planet. We are a people who love what is fake more than what is real. Sadly, it is the truth. And this is why we lose our minds over actors, powerful athletes, and shut our eyes out to God.

The preacher thought again about the syringe. And the measurements of the syringe are in denominations that are not so familiar to many of us. The syringe measurements are quoted in units like cc which means cubic cm or they're quoted in ml which stand for milliliters. We are not so familiar with these measurements. Neither are we interested in them because they are so tiny. Our eyes are focused on bigger things like a cup full, a bowl full, a gallon, a bucket or drum full, or even a truckload. But Christ is looking for quality and not quantity.

A cubic centimeter for instance or a milliliter of genuine repentance is better than a drum full of insincere sorrow. God's Word says Godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation not to be regretted but the sorrow of the world produces death according to 2 Corinthians 7:10. This means even one cc of Godly repentance is better than a truckload of the insincere kind of sorrow we find in the world today.

And Christ says a little leaven leavens the whole lump. Leaven which is a form of bacteria can also be baking soda, is used to produce carbon dioxide that causes bread to rise. Leaven can be compared to the power of Jesus Christ in the life of a person dead in sin which brings him into a real living condition, a real living state of being. He is transformed into a new creature. Genuine repentance becomes a force and a power in the heart that is genuinely broken and contrite. Godly sorrow over sinfulness is so powerful that it soaks down to the very core of our soul. Bringing change that is lasting and just a little dose of that sincere repentance brings Jesus Christ into our heart and will turn around the entire body for good. The entire body, mind, and soul will rise to the occasion and run this race with excellence.

And so the old man said to himself, "We've been hungering for a lot of stuff which is not good leaven. It appears to make the bread rise, but it does not produce good bread. It produces bread in which we are seen. We become the focal point instead of Christ being the one who is seen." He said, "We've been hungering after the praises of men and women." Like the Pharisees, we want to be recognized in the marketplaces. We want our names to be big and bold. We want our collars to be lily white while our soul is black from the dungeon of dirt, depravity, and despair.

And this is the season when pastors in the pulpit and online make the church and people of God jump with excitement over false or worldly doctrines, teaching a word that the people want to hear instead of the word that God wants the people to hear. And this produces weak and vulnerable Christians.

We've entered the season spoken about in 2nd Timothy 4 and 3 in which the Apostle Paul introduces the term itching ears. He says, "The time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lust shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears, and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." We are seeing it every day. But you be watchful in all things. Do the work of an evangelist. Make sure you're doing the things that Christ has called you to do, and you will avoid the itching ears trap.

Too many are following pastors online who are telling them the things that they want to hear. And some of these are being misled and will not know it until it is too late. They need to be sure that they are in a church rubbing shoulders with genuine believers in Christ. Online study has its benefits, but studying God's Word is far more helpful because we must be on the lookout for deception.

It is more important, therefore, to have meaningful conversations with serious men and women of God, discussing issues and concerns with genuine believers in face-to-face interaction. We need real human interaction which we all hunger for deep down because it helps us to grow and develop.

This is an important human need that is lacking in this world of today's media craze. It takes real iron to sharpen iron. And this kind of interaction will help us to be able to spot deceivers. It will save us from being drawn away and into following false teachers. It will help us to keep ourselves grounded and there will be less likelihood that we will be misled. I assure you friend.

I pray in the name of Jesus Christ that you will find a group of Christians and begin worshiping and discussing the Word of God together with them. I pray that you'll enter a church, a Christian church that preaches the very Word of God. There you can grow and develop into a healthy man or woman of God. God bless and keep you in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

You've been listening to this message and perhaps you do not know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Well, we want to give you an opportunity to make that commitment today. As usual, all of our videos have a call to salvation at the end. Please say this prayer after me as you engage your heart and Christ will hear and answer:

  • Father, I am a sinner.

  • I am sorry for all my sins.

  • I crave Your forgiveness.

  • Thank You, Father, for Your forgiveness.

  • I have decided today to accept Jesus Christ as the Lord and Master of my life.

  • Dear Lord Jesus, welcome to my heart.

  • I give You the key to my heart because I now belong to You forever.

  • Please give me the Holy Spirit to lead me into all truth to give me wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.

  • Thank You, Lord, for saving my soul. Amen.

Welcome friend to the body of believers in Christ. There are so many of us here awaiting in faith the return of the Good Master who is soon to come based on what we see in the Word of God. And we know that He can come at any moment. In the meantime we want to encourage you to become water baptized as quickly as possible. Let your pastor know you've committed your life to the Lord. You've accepted Jesus Christ and you want to be baptized the way Jesus Christ was baptized.

Begin reading the Word of God every day. It is your daily food. Begin in the book of John. Then go to Matthew, Mark, and Luke, reading audibly as often as possible. Pray daily. Attend in your local church. And one glad morning the Savior will come and receive us all unto Himself. And we shall indeed forever be with the Lord. God bless and keep you in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
