Giselle's Challenge, A Teenager's Difficult Questions About God.
Hello and welcome to Jeshurun Ministries program preach the gospel trouble is coming to the earth. It is the program designed to help you live victoriously in times of trouble.
A teenager who was attending a Vacation Bible School was really struggling with her beliefs about God and His Word.
During the course of the week, she wrote six questions that troubled her soul. And she passed these questions on to one of the presenters who then asked the pastor to review the questions and call the young lady. The pastor was blown away by the depth and the scope of the questions. He acknowledged that these are difficult questions that so many in the world are puzzled about.
One day a light turned on in his head and he decided to develop a message called Giselle's Challenge. The pastor decided that he would send these questions and his answers out to the world. He would encourage teenagers and adults to make up their own answers to the questions and send them to the ministry and then he would select a group of teenagers to choose the best answers and send them to teenagers all over the world.
And this would be a cooperative effort to give answers to struggling teens everywhere and open their eyes to the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. You, my friend, are invited to join Giselle's challenge. Perhaps you will help someone become a born-again believer in Jesus Christ.
Please send your responses and suggestions to the email address that appears on this screen immediately below. The address will also appear on the screen again and again and then at the end of the message. Thank you for helping us provide answers for those who are searching.
Father, we thank You for every listener to this message. We declare a special blessing upon them in Your Holy name. We pray that this will give answers to some of the questions and struggles some listeners have as they try to comprehend who You are, what You are all about, and whether You're real. May this message increase the faith of every listener. In Jesus Christ's name we pray. Amen.
Thank you my friend for pressing the subscribe, like, and share buttons on this video and for joining Giselle's Challenge. Help us send God's word around the world. Here's Giselle's first question.
Question #1
Why didn't God destroy Satan? Since He wants to protect the world from evil. Here is the pastor's answer. It is written in Revelation 20: 10. the pastor said, that God will indeed destroy Satan. And He says it this way in the Word of God. He says He will cast him into the lake of fire and brimstone and he shall be tormented day and night forever and ever.
However, in the meantime, the pastor told Giselle, "The Father has placed enormous power in the hands of every born-again believer to neutralize Satan themselves by simply resisting him according to John 4 and 7, which instructs the believer on how to wield this great power." And the Word of God says there, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." It is as simple as that.
You see, God is all about empowering and perfecting all who believe in Him. He wants us to live victoriously in a fallen world with dangers lurking all about. Until the time comes, however, Satan, his fallen angels, and demons are serving a purpose in the development of God's children through Jesus Christ. Will you trust His Word, Giselle and be obedient to it? Do not be troubled, my child, the pastor said. According to Isaiah 55:9, God says, "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts." When you look at the earth, friend, the universe, and God's marvelous creations, we cannot help but admit that our tiny minds can hardly fathom the mind of God and His glorious plan for man. This glorious plan is unfolding precisely as it has been laid out in the book of revelation and other new and old testament writings.
The book of revelation also points to a time when the mystery of God will be finished according to Revelation 10:7. At that time all true believers shall be transformed and the complete plan of God will become crystal clear to us. The pastor went on to say, "There will be no more mystery. In the meantime, He's teaching us to have faith and courage to trust Him." God is doing that. Many Christians believe that at the time of Satan's fall from grace, it does not appear that man had been created yet. But even if man had already been created, the pastor said God's plans were already established from the foundation of the world. And we also must not forget that there was another tree in the middle of the garden of Eden. The pastor tells Giselle, the tree of life according to Genesis 2 and 16.
You see, Adam and Eve could have chosen to eat from that tree and they would have lived forever. Instead, they ate of the forbidden tree, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. These two trees, Giselle, represent the choices of good and evil, which are always before us, the pastor said. And no matter what you believe about God, it is important that you be wise and always choose good over evil and it will go well for you. It is also clear that from the very beginning, the Father had a far greater plan and A plan for mankind.
But we are instead living in His rescue plan. the pastor said, which is God's B plan. And this has happened because of Adam and Eve's fall from grace. And here we find a sign of God's mercy. Nevertheless, that even when we stray, He has a plan to rescue us if we're willing to trust Him. The pastor went on to say, "He created mankind from the dust of the earth and raises us up to become sons of the Most High God, daughters of the Most High God." And this may be His greatest miracle yet. I am indeed thankful to be a part of that glorious plan. The pastor said, "What about you, Giselle?" In addition, when God gave the angels a free will, He knew that one day some of them would disobey Him.
After all, He's made billions upon billions of human beings, and they've all been disobedient. We have all been disobedient to Him over and over again and we continue in disobedience. Yet God loves us. He's always willing to forgive us and He is merciful to us, merciful every living day. Here is Giselle's second question.
Question #2
Is God punishing women for what happened to Eve millions of years ago? She asked, "Isn't He supposed to be all forgiving?" The pastor went on to say, "Well, Giselle, do not leave men out of the formula. We are also feeling the pinch every living day." And he said, "This question brings us to a very important point. It reveals an aspect of God's nature that puts one of His greatest attributes on display, His forgiving heart. God will forgive whoever asks Him for forgiveness sincerely. No matter what they have done, as long as they have not blasphemed His Holy Spirit and no matter who they are, He is prepared to forgive them.
Unfortunately, the pastor said, "His forgiveness will not excuse us of the consequences of our sin." Here's the evidence that God forgave Adam and Eve. He said number one, He did not destroy them. He had warned them that whoever ate of the forbidden tree would die, and they did indeed die spiritually, but not physically.
You see, sin brings death, which is separation from God. The pastor said, "Adam and Eve knew this and ate the fruit anyway, so they paid the price. Is it fair to blame God for their disobedience? How would it be?" The pastor said, "If we lived in a world where there were no consequences for our actions, can you imagine how lawless and how dangerous our communities and societies would be?" God had already established the consequences of sin when He created the world. The pastor went on to say, "And the Word of God tells us that God does not change." It is not as if Adam and Eve had not been warned that sin brings consequences and we all must bear them when we sin. We in the world today must accept responsibility for the things we do. This is a part of our growth and developmental process. This is the way that God matures us, the pastor said.
In addition, there's a familiar saying that goes this way. For every action there is a reaction. The pastor said number two, sin which is disobedience to God is so powerful a stain on our life that the effects of it is passed on to our seed. Yes, it is passed on to our children through our physical and spiritual genes. In the same way that we pass on the good features of our nature to our children, we also end up passing on some of the bad, some of the evil and some of the wicked features about our nature and our specific makeup. This is only natural. Therefore, the pastor said, "Sin has a generational attachment to it. And this is only broken from over us by the blood of Jesus Christ, who is the ultimate pure Lamb that died in our place to deliver us from death. And because of this, we have a hope to be cleansed of all unrighteousness and to live eternally with the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit." This is the essence of the gospel, the pastor said, which is God's awesome plan to redeem man from this bondage of sin and death, which was caused by the sin of Adam and Eve.
The great news, however, is that when we come to Christ, the sins of the generations before us are broken from over us. However, be warned, Giselle. They are waiting in the wings and can fall upon us again should we abandon Christ and begin walking with Satan as before. Then the pastor said, "God makes everything after its kind. So be careful how you live, Giselle. Your sins will impact your future children."
Number three, the pastor said, "He showed mercy to Adam and Eve. He killed animals and used their skins to make protective covering for them. Here's what happened when He did this. The animals died in the place of Adam and Eve. And in this way, they were spared from physical death. This was only, however, a temporary covering. Later, the pastor said, "The ultimate unblemished and pure sacrificial lamb known as Jesus Christ would need to die to provide a perfect and eternal covering for the descendants of Adam and Eve." "Is this not a clear sign of God's mercy?" He asked Giselle and His forgiveness in that He sacrificed His only begotten Son as that Lamb in order to cleanse us of all unrighteousness. Here's Giselle's next question.
Question #3
Can you be thrown out of heaven like Lucifer? She asked. Well, the pastor said, "Those who are chosen to rise up in the great gathering when Jesus Christ returns will be all believers in Christ who have overcome Satan and the wickedness of sin." According to Revelation 3:12, He says, "He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go out no more." In other words, he will forever be with the Lord. Therefore, those who will enter the kingdom of heaven will be those who've been tried in the hot crucible of chastisements and afflictions and have been found pleasing to God. The pastor said, "Like the angels in heaven, they will be in the presence of the Father forever and ever, and they will serve God out of an abundance of love, and God will keep them."
Secondly, the pastor said, "Satan, who is the deceiver, will by this time have been cast into the lake, which burns with fire and brimstone, and he will no longer be able to deceive anyone. Neither will his wicked demons be able to deceive anyone. God is a Holy God." The pastor tells Giselle, "Sin cannot survive in His presence. The angels in heaven also have free wills and they worship God purely out of love for Him. And all of us who have committed our lives to Jesus Christ have done it by our own free will and out of our love for the one who created us and allowed His only Son to die for us in order that we may have an abundant life. Our greatest joy is to serve the Lord and the joy of the Lord will be our strength. The pastor assures Giselle. Now, here is Giselle's next question.
Question #4
Where did the people before the prophets and Jesus Christ go if they've never been taught the Word of God? Well, the pastor said according to a parable in Luke 16 and 22, there was a man called Lazarus who was a poor and a good man. And since Christ is the one telling this parable, we know of a certain that Lazarus died before Christ became the sacrificial lamb and died for our sins. And the Word of God says when Lazarus died, he was carried into Abraham's bosom. The pastor said, "This appears to be a resting place where those who believed in God and lived a good life were carried after death in the days before Christ died to provide a solution for sin."
Then the pastor went on to say, "Meanwhile, the rich man who was greedy and had no love in his heart nor any generosity was taken to a place of torment called Hades, another name for hell." And this is found in Luke 16 and 19. The pastor went on to say in 1 Peter 4:6, the Word of God says, "The gospel was preached by Christ even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged as men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit." And He said, "This scripture seemed to be saying that Christ went and preached the gospel to those who died before the gospel of salvation was established through the death of Jesus Christ." The pastor went on to say, "Nevertheless, it is important to remember that God is fair and just. He will not judge us for that which we do not know." Here's Giselle's next question.
Question #5
Did God really flood the entire world? And did Noah's ark really exist? The pastor said, "This flooding of the world is not as unbelievable as it may seem." He said, "In the beginning, the entire earth was covered by water according to Genesis. On the second day, the Lord divided the waters and sent some of it up into the atmosphere to form the clouds. And he said according to Genesis 1:9, there was no land visible until God called for the waters to be gathered to one place on the third day of creation so that dry land would appear.
Therefore, he told Giselle it would have been possible for Him to flood the earth again even if He needed to create more water. And he told the young lady, "It is essential that we believe everything that is in the Word of God, even the things that we do not understand. After all, there are many things and people that we believe in or that we put our trust in, yet we do not understand everything about them. Why should we treat God any different?"
Question #6
Then the young lady asked, "Why didn't God answer the prayers of people enslaved for years? Where is He when many people commit suicide or are murdered year after year?" So the pastor answered Giselle, asking her the question, "Who says that God never answered the prayers of the enslaved who believed in Him? His Word says, "Call upon Me and I will answer and show you great and mighty things." He told the young lady, "This is found in Jeremiah 33 and 3." And some call this God's phone number. He has promised to answer any faithful believer who calls out to Him. And any of those who called upon Him, you can be certain that He answered them. And he said to the young lady, "If you were meaning to say that the fact that He did not eradicate slavery is evidence that He did not answer the prayers of faithful slaves, you would be wise to rethink this position. For He did not eradicate slavery and He did not start it." This is man's cruelty to man. Neither has He eradicated deaths, murder, lying, stealing, accidents, broken marriages, drug abuse, abandonment of children, hates, wars, homosexuality, etc. He has not eradicated them yet, for these will all be eradicated.
These are all perpetrated by men and women living on the earth as they are deceived by Satan. These are sinful things that we do in disobedience to God's commands, the pastor tells the young lady. And all these dysfunction will be with us until the one who deceives us and his wicked angels are cast into the fiery furnace called hell. Furthermore, he told Giselle, there are all kinds of ways that God answers prayers, and the best way is by taking His faithful believers away to live eternally with Him. And that day is coming soon. In Psalm 34:19, he says, "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones. Not one of them is broken. Evil shall slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous shall be condemned," the pastor said. And he told her, "This life is no picnic for the good, nor is it a picnic for the evil. However, the difference between the good and the evil is that the good have a faithful one upon whom they can call and He answers prayers. I can assure you yourself and he said there are many witnesses to the fact that the Father is indeed true to His Word and that He answers prayers.
The pastor went on to say Jesus Christ says behold I come quickly and My reward is with Me. This is found in Revelation 22 and 12. Give your heart to Jesus Christ in repentance of all your sins. He told the young lady, "Live a life in obedience to His Word and you will be richly rewarded on Christ's return for His faithful followers." And finally, Giselle, he said, "If Christ was to come today or if you were to die today, what rewards are there waiting for you?" right now based on your obedience to His Word and the quality of the life that you have lived to this point. Thank you kindly Giselle for your deep and thoughtful questions, the pastor said, "I have felt your desire to love our God and Creator in every one of your questions, and I pray that my answers to your questions will satisfy your longing soul and cause you to invite Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior. And I pray that your joy will be unspeakable and full of glory. God bless and keep you in Jesus mighty name Giselle. Amen.
