Bombshells sermon. There's a spirit of fornication in your church. There's a serious spirit of fornication in the Christian church today. Be vigilant or you may fall into its trap. This is nothing new, but we need to address it because many are unaware that we can have this kind of spirit working in the church. This spirit has caught many innocent believers in Christ off guard and has swallowed up many pastors. I heard about it years ago from a certain individual who used to preach the gospel. He was not a pastor but simply a minister who had many opportunities to preach the Word of God in his church and reports are that his messages and delivery were quite tasty.

Sadly, he told me that during the time that he was a preacher, he had more sexual escapades with women in the church than at any other time in his life. At some point, he discontinued preaching, but he never told me what caused him to stop preaching the gospel. In fact, he stopped going to church and went on to live the life of a serial adulterer until his very late 70s. And fortunately, he returned to the Lord shortly before his death. And I hope he made it in. He seemed very sincere.

Father, we thank You for this word. That You may bless the listener. That the Holy Spirit may use the word to penetrate the heart of the listener and transform their thinking. And Lord, we pray that every inch of error in this message will be removed by the Holy Spirit and only the truth of God's Word will sink into the heart of the listener. We thank You, Father, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Here is another true story. A certain married man reported that he came home unexpectedly one evening and found their church priest sitting around in his house dressed in his pajamas while his wife was preparing food for him. The reverend gentleman had full rain in his house whenever he visited and the man's wife insisted that nothing was going on.

This Jezebel spirit has been in the church for thousands of years and is even more prevalent and more powerful today. In Revelation 2:20, when the Lord Christ appeared to the Apostle John, He gave him a scorching message to send to the church called Thyatira, telling the people, "I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience. And as for your works, the last are more than the first. Nevertheless, I have a few things against you, the word of God says, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce my servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. Indeed, I will cast her into a sick bed and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation unless they repent of their deeds. Signed Jesus Christ the Lord.

The people in this church were being seduced and deceived by the doctrine of this evil prophetess. Queen Jezebel was the wife of evil king Ahab, who was the most wicked woman in all of scripture, aside from the whore of Babylon in the book of Revelation. And the people led by her were committing two sins. They were doing sexually immoral things and they were participating in idolatrous worship by knowingly eating food sacrificed to idols. And we see the undeserved mercy of God on display as He gave this wicked woman and those who committed adultery with her space or time to repent of their sins. And the Lord promised to cast the woman into a bed of affliction because she refused to repent. And He promised that great troubles and trials would come to those who had participated with her in these sinful behaviors.

Recently, we talked about a woman called Mystery Babylon the Great, the mother of harlots and abominations of the earth. But who are these harlots being referred to here? Why is she called the whore, the great prostitute? But these harlots and whores are the millions who have been and who are now being deceived by false doctrines of cults and various denominations and sects of the Christian and Jewish churches. And they are perhaps those in the churches and in the world who've been deceived and fallen to the spirit of sexual fornication and the spirit of idolatrous fornication.

As a pastor, I have discovered that people have many motives for going to church. And I lament and I'm saddened by the fact that seeking the one true God and His Son Jesus Christ is very often not the main reason that many go to church. Sometimes people need healing. At other times they're lonely and are looking for fellowship or companionship. And then at other times they may be looking to the church for help, for aid. But often they're also led into the church by Satan to pray upon the unsuspecting and naive children of God and to seduce them sexually and sometimes the ones used by Satan are pastors.

Understanding that we all have needs. I would be a hypocrite to attack people for coming to church for the wrong reason. But we must make sure our motive is pure. I strongly encourage people to seek the Lord in this season while He can still be found and to continue assembling with the body of believers as we are instructed by the Father to continue doing no matter what. However, when our personal agenda is more important than finding the Savior of our soul, this will become problematical. It becomes a problem because the spirit of adultery and fornication are active in the church and waiting for victims to exploit. And these spirits are looking for victims to deceive and to lead astray. And the most vulnerable victim is the one with wrong motives. This is the one who will end up being blindsided by Satan. This is the one most likely to be drawn into temptation.

And doesn't the Word of God tell us that we will find the Lord when we search for Him with all our heart? So when our whole motive is not to find Jesus Christ at all cost, we simply will not find Him maybe. But it does not end there because what we do find may destroy our very soul.

Husbands, when your wife starts going to church, I urge you go with her. Wives, when your husband starts going to church, I counsel you to go along with him. If you want your marriage, that is. Do not allow anything to create a separation between you and your spouse. There are many snakes in the church pretending to be men and women of God. And sometimes lonely people just want someone to talk to or someone to pay attention to them. And perhaps they have no real intention to commit sexual sins. But Satan, he sets the trap for them and before they realize it, they are in too deep emotionally with the other person. They've eaten Satan's bait, hook, line, and sinker as the fisherman say. And then they give themselves over physically to the scheming demon. And after this, life becomes very complicated for them. And Satan is laughing all the way to the bank.

Those women in the church who go to church with heavy makeup, long lashes, nails with a different color on every finger, chains on their ankle, tattoos on their legs and chest. May not realize it, but they may not be in Christ. They may actually be teasing the spirit of Babylon and may not survive his piercing arrow. Men who go to church with pants down, arms and chest revealing their tattoos and wearing excessive jewelry may not realize it. But they also teasing or inviting the spirit of Jezebel.

In fact, the church can be the worst place to come looking for a wife or husband when your motive is wrong. At times people have struck gold. But there are many horror stories of those who only found fool's gold. And when they find this fool's gold in the church, it does the greatest harm to them. James 4:2 speaks to us, tells us our problems come from our uncontrollable desires and lusts. And here's how he says it to us.

You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive because you ask amiss. And this means you ask with wrong motive. The scripture goes on to say that you may spend it on your pleasures. Adulterers and adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God?

So the scripture starts by asking us where do our problems, where do our fights and waring among the people of God and in the world come from. In other words, where do the fights in your marriages come from? They come from your greed and sinful desires that is in your physical body that you do not allow God to teach you how to control. You want money or husband or wife. You want someone to care for you. You also want financial security and cannot seem to get enough of these things. And so you scheme and deceive others. And you even deceive the church, the members, and of course the pastor. And the Lord says that you do not have simply because you do not ask Him. He is the giver of all good things. And when you do ask him, the scripture tells us our motive is not right. In fact, it's downright evil. You're looking for things to satisfy your lusts and your personal desires. You see others in the world have something and you want it. Babylon, believe it or not, is leading you by a ring in your nose. And the word of God calls you a prostitute and a harlot. And that is what adultery and idolatry causes us to become.

Picture this scene from Exodus 32. if you will. The God of heaven had come down to the earth to meet His new and very first church. He's staying up in the mountaintop. At this time, there were more than a million people called Israelites, God's chosen. He is taking them to the land of luxury, the land of wealth and riches, the land of milk and honey. It is a land of fertile soil and well- constructed pre-fabricated homes, a land of peace and plenty called the promised land.

God is living in a cloud on the mountain. And Moses goes up to the mountain to meet with Him to receive the Ten Commandments and to receive detailed instructions for building the first tabernacle for worship. And on this visit up the mountain, Moses stayed 40 days and 40 nights. And the people got tired waiting for him to return. They asked Aaron to make gods to carry them to the promised land. And they planned to abandon Moses and his God. After Aaron made the god, which was the infamous golden calf, he made an altar for them. And the next morning, they rose up early. The word of God says, offered burnt offerings and brought peace offerings to the golden calf. And then the Word of God says something astonishing. It says the people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play. This expression rose up to play means that they had a great celebration that involved singing, dancing, eating, drinking, and yes, sexual play and all that was sinful.

This event was so horrific that it is mentioned in many of the books of the Old Testament and several in the New Testament. It was so despicable that it might be one of the most talked about incidents in the Bible next to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Again, we see that Jezebel's spirit at work in the people of God.

The spirit of this whore, this prostitute called Babylon, which is the spirit of all that is evil and wicked in the earth, is controlling the entire world. And Revelation 18 shows the fall of this evil realm or this evil kingdom that coexists with the kingdom of God. And God calls us to recognize that this fornicating and idolatrous spirit is real. He's calling us to come out of it. He's calling us to walk in the spirit and not in the flesh.

In James 4:4b, the Word of God says, "Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God?" Or do you think that the scripture says in vain, "The spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously?" In verse 7, he says, "Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you doubleminded."

We thank God for His word today. May it sink into your heart. Or may you run with it and share it with someone else. God bless and keep you in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

You've been listening to this message and perhaps you do not know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We want to give you an opportunity to make that commitment today.

Please engage your heart and say this prayer after me.

-Father, I am a sinner.

-I'm sorry for all my sins.

-I crave Your forgiveness.

-I need Your forgiveness.

-Thank You for Your mercy, Lord.

-Today I invite Jesus Christ into my heart.

-Dear Lord Jesus, make my heart Your home.

-I give You the key to my heart because I now belong to You forever.

-Please keep the key.

-And please give me the Holy Spirit to lead me into all truth.

-Thank You, Lord, for saving my soul. Amen.

Welcome, friend, to the body of believers in Christ. There are many of us here awaiting the return of the Good Master. He is coming again, and He's coming soon. In the meantime, we encourage you to become water baptized as quickly as possible. Let your pastor know that you've committed your life to the Lord and you want to be baptized. Let nothing prevent you from becoming baptized. Immersed in the water in the manner in which Jesus Christ was baptized. Begin reading the word of God every day. It is your daily food. Without it, you will fall weak and the enemy will tease you and pull you away from the Lord using your own words and your own desires. Begin reading in the book of John. Then go to Matthew, Mark, and Luke, and even the book of Acts. Pray daily. Attend at your local church. And one glad morning, the Savior will come and receive us all unto Himself. And we shall indeed forever be with the Lord. God bless and keep you in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
