Avalanche

An avalanche is a large amount of snow and ice flowing rapidly down a slope such as a hill or mountain. These can be triggered by new heavy snowfall, wind and also human activities.

An avalanche poses great risk to skiers, hikers and also homes and properties located at the base of the hill or mountain. People caught in an avalanche can die from trauma, suffocation or hypothermia.
