Are The Seven Trumpets Of Revelation Worse Than The Seven Seals?

Dr. Hepburn continues the journey into the judgements of the Book of Revelation. Just when we thought we had seen the worst, the seventh angel breaks the seventh seal, and there is silence in heaven for half an hour. Why does he say this pause is like the eye of the hurricane?

Are the seven trumpets of Revelation worse than the seven seals? That's our message. The text is taken from the book of Revelation.

If you’ve survived a deadly hurricane, and the eye passed over the place where you were hiding from that dangerous storm, there’s no way that you will forget the calm and the stillness that came over the land while the eye passed over you! All of a sudden, the winds die off and the land is at peace! Many have been deceived by this, and have relaxed their guard, thinking that the hurricane was over! Then all of a sudden, the winds and rain begin lashing the ground again, catching them unprepared for what comes next, and this could be deadly!

Very often after the eye passes, the fury of the storm comes back with a vengeance, more intense than before. It turns out that it was simply the calm before the real storm! Now how long it takes for the eye of a hurricane to pass depends on a number of things such as, the size of the storm, the speed at which it is moving, and of course your location in the storm. We do know that many have used this pause to batten down more securely, some even tie their roof down and thereby save it, and sometimes people take the opportunity to move to higher ground before the storm surge arrives. So the eye of the hurricane can be a real life saver!

Father we thank You for Your word today. Send it forth under the anointing of Your Holy Spirit. We thank You and praise You for this word in Jesus name, amen.

This calm in the middle of an intense storm is similar to what happens at the breaking of the seventh seal during the coming tribulation, because when the Lamb of God opens the seventh seal there will be silence in heaven for about a half an hour! Perhaps it will be a brief rest period similar to the passing of the eye of a hurricane! Like the eye of the storm, this half hour, whether it will be a literal 30-minute pause or longer will no doubt be a pause from the destruction which the Lord will grant because of His great mercy! Otherwise, who would be able to survive the tragic events that will come in the second half? This brief break in the action might be necessary to give us rest, to give us pause, because the events waiting in the wings, will be unbearable for the people living on earth! It will be the calm before more of the great wrath of God is unleashed upon mankind, and there will be no turning back!

As the Lamb of God opened this seal, seven angels were in heaven poised to blow their trumpets, and an eighth angel first threw a censer filled with fire from the altar in heaven down to the earth causing voices, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake to erupt in the earth. At the sounding of the first trumpet vegetation on earth will be struck. When the angel blew the first trumpet, hail and fire mingled with blood followed and were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burned up.

Next, the oceans will be struck. Then the second angel sounded and something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.

What's coming next is that the waters will be struck. Then the third angel sounded: And a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter.

Then of course the heavens will be struck. Then the fourth angel sounded: And a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day did not shine, and likewise the night. And John said, " I looked and I heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, "Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound.

At the sounding of the fifth trumpet, locust came up from the bottomless pit. Then the fifth angel sounded: And I saw a star fallen, John said, from heaven to the earth. To him was given the key to the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit, and smoke arose out of the pit like the smoke of a great furnace. So the sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke of the pit. Then out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth. And to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. And they were commanded not to harm the grass of the earth, or any green thing, or any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. And they were not given authority to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment scripture says was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a man. In those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will desire to die, and death will flee from them.John said, "The shape of the locusts were like horses prepared for battle. On their heads were crowns of something like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men. They had hair like women’s hair, and their teeth were like lions’ teeth. And they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots with many horses running to battle. They had tails like scorpions, and there were stings in their tails. Their power was to hurt men five months. And they had as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, but in Greek he has the name Apollyon. Then the angel said, "One woe is past. Behold, still two more woes are coming after these tings." When the sixth trumpet was blown; The four angels at the Euphrates were loosed. Scripture says, "Then the sixth angel sounded: And I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind. Now the number of the army of the horsemen was two hundred million; and John said, "I heard the number of them. And thus I saw the horses in the vision: those who sat on them had breastplates of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow; and the heads of the horses were like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths came fire, smoke, and brimstone. By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed—by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which came out of their mouths. For their power, scripture says, is in their mouth and in their tails; for their tails are like serpents, having heads; and with them they do harm. Scripture says, "But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear, nor walk, and this is incredible. And then the Word of God goes on to say, "And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immoralities or their thefts. Next a mighty angel from heaven with a little book, and John said, "I saw still another mighty angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was on his head, his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire. He had a little book open in his hand. And he set his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, and cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars. When he cried out, seven thunders uttered their voices. Now when the seven thunders uttered their voices, John says he was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and do not write them.”

The angel whom I saw standing on the sea, John said, and on the land raised up his hand to heaven and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer, but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the Word of God says, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.

As I wondered about sending out this message. In fact all these messages about the book of Revelation. And especially about the seven seals and the seven trumpets. I questioned whether or not I should send these messages out. But the Lord reminded me of the word that He gave to me on the night of March 20th 2025 saying that, "Trouble has come to the earth, trouble is here.” He put it in my spirit that in various places of the world as trouble breaks forth, in the time ahead. Many who are living on earth presently, will go to bed at night expecting to wake up as usual the next morning. However, when they awaken, they will awaken in the judgment, and it will be too late to fix anything that is broken in their lives! And they will find themselves standing before the King of kings and the Lord of Lords and they will have to give an account for the ways in which they have lived their life! Unfortunately, it will be too late to fix their relationship with Jesus Christ! God bless His Holy Word.
