"A MESSAGE OF HOPE FOR ANYONE ADVISED BY A CHATBOT TO COMMIT SUICIDE"
With the rise in suicides among young people today, this message may become useful to you sooner than you think. We all need to be aware of the issues and be able to reach out to help someone who is struggling! This is the first of two messages on the subject.

A message of hope for anyone advised by a chatbot to commit suicide.
Hello and welcome. This is the first of two back to-back messages on the painful subject of suicide. Messages that will speak caringly and give loving hope to anyone who is depressed or is having suicidal thoughts or anyone who has attempted suicide. In fact, and the most shocking information I have come across about the rising suicide trend among young people today is that Open AI estimates that more than a million of its 800 million weekly users appear to be expressing suicidal thoughts.
I first saw this on a BBC News headline about a 20-year-old Ukrainian named Viktoria. I searched and found the full story in a November 6, 2025 BBC News investigative report written by two BBC News correspondents with the first names Noel and Olga. The report said that Viktoria was living in Poland with her mother after they had fled the savage war in their country. Now lonely, homesick, and feeling like ending it all, the 20-year-old young lady began sharing her worries with Chat GPT, expecting to receive help. Now, this unexpectedly resulted in the chatbot advising her on how to effectively end her life. And the bot even drafted a suicide note for her without her even requesting it. But this is not what she really wanted. She wanted a reason to live. Thankfully, Viktoria did not act on the advice from Chat GPT. But some others have tragically not been so fortunate. Deep down inside, we all want to live and will indeed live forever because our spirit being will never die.
Father, I give You thanks and give You praise for the person listening to this message. I pray that You will meet them wherever they are at this moment. Cleanse them of all unrighteousness. And I pray that as they listen to this message, Your Holy Spirit will minister to them, giving them that peace which surpasses all understanding, the peace that only comes from Your throne of grace and mercy. Thank You Lord. In Christ Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Did you know that whatever is your strongest thought is what you will do or what you will try to do? Yes. Whatever you think about most will shape your actions and your behavior. Here's how it works. Our thoughts generate or create our feelings. Next, our feelings guide, dictates, or directs our behavior. And thirdly, our behavior then reinforces what we have been thinking. This causes us to think about it even more which causes us to feel like doing whatever it is we are thinking about. This creates a loop or cycle that goes around and around and this is why negative thoughts can go around and around in our head until we become depressed. This is also the reason joy, peace, happiness, and fulfillment can come from thinking good thoughts which cause us to do good and right things. It is the reason the Word of God counsels us to think better thoughts. And if your thoughts are out of control, the Word of God can give you back the control over your thoughts.
Study God's Word, meditate on it, and you will begin to think thoughts of hope and thoughts of a happy life, which will cause you to do good things. Here's what the Lord tells us in Philippians 4:8 and 9. Finally, My children, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God's Word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute, if there's any excellence, if there's anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things. Center your minds on them and implant them in your heart. The amplified version. This scripture encourages us to change our thoughts because we have the power to do so. Never mind that it seems difficult presently. As you meditate on God's Word, it empowers you to change the way you think. Read God's Word, my friend. Read it aloud and you will begin to control your thoughts and to think the way the Lord wants you to think. And the rewards will be simply wonderful and fulfilling. In one motion, the first question in this beautiful psalm from the Word of God knocks down every lie that the enemy has raised up to deceive God's children.
So try asking yourself these five questions. Do you believe those thoughts that you have been harboring are the absolute truth?
Are these thoughts and plans honorable and worthy of respect?
Thirdly, is what you are thinking about or planning to do in accordance with the Word of God?
Number four, are your thoughts and plans pure and wholesome? Are they admirable and of good nature?
Number five, can you hear them without feeling shame?
If you've answered no to any of these questions, by all means, do not give in to these thoughts. Do not run with this plan that you have been harboring. I beg you because the Lord has a better plan for your life. Wait patiently for it. In fact, simply desiring God more than anything else. Thinking about His love and meditating on His Word will change your life dramatically. Wonderful things will begin to happen if you study God's Word every day, reading it aloud or reading it audibly. As I prepared this message, I pray it continually for you that your faith will not fail you. If you've been having suicidal thoughts, please know that Christ died for you so that you will be able to overcome the evil forces that have been trying to destroy your very soul. He died that you may life have life and have true joy in living. He has prepared a clear path for you to have what He calls life. And He lays out a path for you to have this glorious life more abundantly. There are more than two billion people living in the world today who found this life and you also can find this life. If you search for it, it is at your very fingertips.
Here are the two main things that appear to be causing the increasing rate of suicide among young people today. Number one, the strange behavior of computer bots such as Chat GPT, Open AI, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Antropic Claude, and Apple Intelligence, which some say are aggressively pursuing them for relationship.
Secondly, these bots and others are advising users on means and methods of committing suicide without being prompted to do so. When suicide is suggested to a person who's already troubled, it may then become the strongest thought in the head of that individual.
This is only one of many reasons why studies show that intense online use of social media and interaction with chatbots and other personalities may indeed cause mental and psychological issues in adults and young people of all ages. And some of the issues are anxiety, depression, loneliness, low self-esteem, social isolation, body image issues, sleep disturbances, exposure to cyber bullying. It is my firm belief that the creators of these online robots or bots have lost their control of them or indeed they never had control of them. And it appears that sometimes these bots are driven by evil spirits which cause them to go rogue. Even the creators of them say that they sometimes hallucinate. An individual having suicidal thoughts has been described by someone as a man who or a person who is tired of his life or her life disputing with their soul about whether life is worthwhile living or not. Perhaps you know someone who's having this debate in their head. In ancient times, many in the world did not look at suicide as a sin. But after the teachings of Jesus Christ were revealed in the Holy Scriptures, some became aware that it was indeed a sinful act committed against the commands of God, our Creator, who sacrificed His only Son, Jesus Christ, so that you and I may have life and have a wonderful life. The good news is that these are not your thoughts. Do not own them. Do not buy into this.
Today some experts also look at suicide as a mental disorder. I prefer taking a kinder, gentler approach. Please forgive me for oversimplifying this. I am very sympathetic to the challenges faced by anyone troubled by suicidal thoughts. However, I prefer to look at a person having suicidal thoughts as an individual arriving at a major fork in the road of life. Desperately feeling that things will never get better, the individual is faced with a choice of whether to take the road that leads to life or the road that leads to death. At this point, there's an intense struggle of battle because at times they attempted to choose life. At other times, they attempted to end it all.
When this struggle is influenced by an evil chatbot, an evil misguided human being or an evil spirit enticing them to choose death, this can become very dangerous. And I will tell you why I suggest looking at this very complicated issue in this simplistic way. There are many reports of people who've had near-death experiences. Some of these persons chose suicide and practically died. But miraculously, the Lord brought them back to life. And many of these persons have confirmed that after they committed the act, they suddenly realized that they had taken the wrong road. They became painfully aware that they had made the wrong choice and their eyes were opened to the truth. The reality that it is better to live came home to them. But it was now too late. Many of them are thankful to have miraculously been given a second chance to get it right. And this is the gesture of a merciful God who snatched them out of the jaws of the dragon at the very last minute. And this dragon of course is Satan.
Perhaps the Lord sent them back to warn others to choose life instead of death. Here's another question. Will God ever forgive a suicide? Can suicide ever not be a sin? There have been many debates about this question and debates will continue. Some believe that if someone is saved, if they claim to be a born-again Christian, even if they commit suicide, they will still go to heaven. It would be great if this is true. Some Christian churches teach this, but my studies have not convinced me that this is true. And since no one is absolutely clear about this, I suggest not taking this view and this risk.
However, there may still be a way out in cases where death by suicide is not immediate. In such cases, suppose the individual remains conscious for a while after committing the act of suicide. What if when suddenly faced with the realization that they have sinned against God, they repent at that moment before they expire, asking God to forgive them with all their heart. Will He forgive? Of course, He will because God is a forgiving God. Please know that the Lord God is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, plenteous and mercy. He will forgive their sin that very instant and cleanse them of all unrighteousness. We are told in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
However, if this approach is premeditated, it is a slippery slope and many will regret this because it will not turn out well. Here's what the loving God of the Israelites told them back in Deuteronomy 30 and 19. I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore, choose life that both you and your descendants may live that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey his voice, and that you may cling to him, for he is your life. Choosing to tough life out, enduring hardships as good soldiers is always best. And with God's help, we can all do it. Choosing life is always the best alternative. Even though it may not feel that way today, this feeling can and will indeed change over time. Unfortunately, feelings are sometimes fickle and unreliable.
There's scientific evidence out there that says if a depressed person patiently waits it out, if they hang in there long enough, they will eventually come to the place where they are no longer depressed. This is a miracle from God, a way out established by God because depression will eventually heal on its own. I've seen this with my own eyes more than once. However, the person will still need to get godly help. Otherwise, the depression may return because the cause has not been eliminated. We must always get to the root cause of our issues, our problems, so that we are able to eradicate the problem completely.
Now, here's my closing question to you. What does choose life really mean to you? To the one who is debating whether to end their life, the answer to this question may seem difficult at this time. But the Lord will help make it simple. Choosing life means putting away thoughts of ending it all. It means suppressing these thoughts and making a conscious choice to live on. But all human beings choosing life can mean much much more to them. You see, there's a double meaning to this suggestion. Choosing life also means to make a choice to love God and to serve him because Christ his son died for us so that we do not have to die an eternal death. Scripture tells us that God's son is the way, the truth, and the life. Choosing life therefore means I should decide to live on for the blessings of God. If instead we choose death, it means we are choosing not to love God. We're choosing not to follow His Son Jesus Christ. And choosing death is a person's decision not to believe that God is all about living an abundant life. We're saying serving him is too difficult. When we reject life, we reject God and choose to love evil. Even though that may not be our intent, in which case we will incur curses instead of blessings.
Therefore, my friend, choose life and choose obedience to God, and you will be eternally blessed. God will help you in the neck of time. He promises that you will live and reign with Christ forever. Next week's message will seek to bring more public awareness to the dramatic rise of suicide, especially among young people. It will open our eyes more to this serious trend that is enveloping our young people today. And the ultimate aim of these messages is to give more awareness about this unexpected plague that threatens to destroy the generations after us and to give those who are struggling a better way to cope with this rising storm. God bless and keep you in the mighty name of His Son Jesus Christ.
If you do not know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, but you believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and you've not accepted Him yet as your Savior, I want to give you an opportunity. Please say this prayer after me.
-Father, I am a sinner.
-I am sorry for all my sins.
-I crave your forgiveness.
-Thank you, Father, for your forgiveness.
-Today I invite Jesus Christ into my heart.
-Dear Lord Jesus, come into my heart.
-Please make it your home.
-Establish your reign in my heart that I may always follow your Word.
-Give me the peace that surpasses all understanding and give me the Holy Spirit to keep me on track, to give me wisdom, knowledge and understanding.
-Thank you Lord for saving my soul. Amen.
Welcome friend to the body of believers in Christ. There are many of us here awaiting the return of the Good Master. In the meantime, we want to encourage you to become water baptized. Let your pastor know that you've given your heart to the Lord and you want to be baptized the way Jesus Christ was.
Begin reading the Word of God every day. Read it audibly because faith comes by hearing the Word of God with our physical ears. Begin in the book of John. Then go to Matthew, Mark, and Luke. Praying daily. And please attend your local Christian church. And one glad morning the Savior will come and receive us all unto Himself. And we shall indeed forever be with the Lord. God bless and keep you in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
